Kingdom Of Nul's inspiration has come mostly from the world we live in and the emotions we feel because of it. Nature has played a huge part in the imagery and inspiration behind the music, as well as society and life itself. Below is a list of things that inspired and influenced the course of KON's music at the time of these recordings:

- Life & death
- Society
- Dreams
- Mental illness (trauma, grief, sorrow, agoraphobia)
- Dementia, cancer & other illnesses
- Nature - Mountains, lakes, rivers, forests etc
- Seasons, primarily Winter
- Space, science-fiction etc
- Both high and dark fantasy (JRR Tolkien, Terry Pratchet etc)
- Video games - Dark Souls, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dear Esther
- Love, relationships & friendships
- Nuclear warfare
- Politics (only slightly)

The track names are mostly based on what it is I pictured in my head during the writing sessions. Sometimes they'd been written before I'd put a picture to them. At that point I then manipulated them to sway more towards the image I wanted to put to the music.

Kingdom Of Nul's music has at times been about as minimalistic as it can be without being pure silence. At other times, it's had more obvious chord patterns and melodies, as well as more blatant emotions and influences. During this time, I had tried to work out what avenue of ambient music I wanted to go down and whether it was something I could enjoy writing. I originally began writing ambient music for two reasons, however. The first reason is that I wanted to create something almost polar opposite to what I was used to for my college work, to adapt my own versatility with my compositions, therefore developing new production and writing techniques. The other reason I decided to try writing ambient music was to deal with a different side to my personal problems. These problems included anxiety, grief and very high levels of stress and worry. I still have these issues to deal with but I believe writing ambient soundscapes has helped me relax and express my emotions in a calmer way. I hope listening to Kingdom Of Nul's music helps those of you with similar problems to myself, and that you'll tell me if it's brought you some kind of comfort.

Finally, I'd like to issue a huge thank you to everybody that purchased a copy of any of the releases included on this compilation. It may have only been a little, but it helped fund work on other KON music that's yet to be released, as well as my other musical projects. As they were all released for free, it means a hell of a lot to know that there are people out there who found my work worth their hard earned money.

A special shout out to Teddy Gibbin for uploading KON's work to Youtube so that it may be shared with more people than Bandcamp alone could possibly reach. Thanks!

Thank you again to those that have supported Kingdom Of Nul's work, as well as myself on a personal level. I hope you know who you are.
